Miss España Organization, the producers of Miss España and Mister España pageants and responsible for sending Spanish delegates to some major international pageants, might be closed due to bankruptcy, some sources told Beauty Mania.
According to the sources, the organization is currently facing a financial crisis. Possible reasons are lack of sponsorship from the private sector, mismanagement of the organizational funds, and decrease in popularity among the Spaniards since they are not a pageant-crazed country. If this will continue until the end of the year, Andrea Huisgen and Diego Otero might be the last titleholders under the organization.
Miss España Organization produced numerous international titleholders including Amparo Muñoz (Miss Universe 1974), Pilar Medina (Miss International 1977), Silvia de Esteban (Miss International 1990), Alejandra Andreu (Miss International 2008), and Juan Garcia Postigo (Mister World 2007). The organization also produced runners-up and semi-finalists in major international pageants like Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss World, Miss Earth, and Mister World.
Update: As of this writing, the organization's website has been under construction.
